SAVE THE CHILDREN - HIF
Save the Children's Human Innovation Fund (HIF) s a globally-recognised programme leading on the development and testing of innovation in the humanitarian system.

They aim to to improve outcomes for people affected by humanitarian crises by identifying, nurturing and sharing more effective and scalable solutions.
THE PROBLEM
Humanitarian settings are some of the most challenging contexts for inclusive and responsible data collection.
The UN Secretary General called for improved use of data on disability in humanitarian action.
Part of the problem is a lack of meaningful collaboration with older people or people with disabilities.
To support this, HIF has funded a number of projects around the world that find innovative ways to use data to drive increased inclusion.
CONCEPT
The purpose of the videos is to drive awareness of HIF's work to potential donors and NGOs. As a result it was important to focus the videos less on the data being collected and more on the impact the data could have on effected individuals.

The projects all dealt with different humanitarian crisis settings. From war torn countries like Gaza and Somalia; refugee crises in Mozambique and Kenya and populations threatened by natural disasters in Indonesia and the Philippines.

Each video strives to tell the story of how engaging with disabled and elderly populations, changes the way that humanitarian responses are planned and executed to ensure greater inclusion.
RESULTS
The videos are not yet released and this page will be updated in early 2025 when we have some early results.
